Founded in 1904 by Otto Aeschbach, Aeschbach is a family-owned Swiss footwear and fashion accessories retailer based in Geneva, Switzerland. Renowned for its expertise, high-quality customer service, and personalized advice, the company operates 18 stores across Switzerland and offers more than 300 brands. Its extensive selection provides footwear and accessories for the entire family, suitable for every occasion and style.
OUR HISTORY
- 1904 : Otto and Rosa Aeschbach open the first store on Rue de la Corraterie in Geneva.
- 1940 : Opening of the store at 4 Rue du Rhône, Geneva.
- 1950 : Launch of a home delivery service.
- 1960 : Installation of the first in-store slide, which would become an iconic feature of the brand.
- 2009 : Opening of L’Empreinte, Switzerland’s first ethical and ecological footwear store.
- 2014 : Acquisition of the e-commerce retailer Koala.ch.
- 2020 : After 80 years on Rue du Rhône, Aeschbach relocates its flagship store to Rue du Marché 40 in Geneva, featuring 1,200 m² of retail space.
- 2022 : Partnership with Manor and launch of shop-in-shop concepts in five department stores.

Sustainability is also a key focus. This commitment began in 2009 with the opening of L’Empreinte, Switzerland’s first ethical and ecological footwear store. Today, it is reflected through the selection of eco-conscious brands, including several B Corp-certified companies, as well as concrete initiatives in stores aimed at reducing energy consumption and promoting recycling.
Aeschbach is also distinguished by the quality of its service and the expertise of its teams, who provide personalized and professional guidance to customers. This commitment extends to foot health and well-being through partnerships such as its collaboration with the Assal Centre.
A FAMILY BUSINESS FOR OVER A CENTURY
Aeschbach has remained a family-owned company for more than a century and is now led by the third and fourth generations of the family. The company is managed by Sébastien Aeschbach alongside his father Christian Aeschbach and his cousin Bernard Aeschbach.
After studying economics, Sébastien Aeschbach began his career at Nestlé, initially working in finance before moving into marketing for the Cailler brand. His experience in brand management led him to join the family business in 2008 as Marketing and Sales Director, where he has played a key role in shaping the company's growth and development.
