Named for the Fêtes Persanes, another opera-ballet by 18th century French composer Jean-Philippe Rameau, this fragrance combines a set of woody, spicy, and floral notes to arrive at an olfactory vision of the harsh and noble landscape of the windswept Persian highlands. The fragrance opens on a spicy-fresh note of black pepper mixed with bright bergamot and the creamy, resinous tang of elemi. A spiced rose emerges slowly in the heart, surrounded by the hot and spicy accents of cardamom, cinnamon, and clove. The spiced rose and citrusy pepper come to rest in a bed of white muck, smoky Gaiac wood, cedar, patchouli, and finally, the warming, softer nuances of creamy vanilla.
