An ode to the iconic perfumes of the 1970s, Synthetic Jungle offers a modern vision of nature reinterpreted. Not a literal representation of a jungle, but a dreamlike experience of greenery and warmth: natural and stylised, hyper-realistic and fantastical. Flipo retained the opulent basil of the original composition, along with a recomposed bouquet of hyacinth, lily of the valley, natural jasmine and ylang-ylang oil. To modernise and sharpen the composition, she added synthetic blackcurrant and styralylacetate, sending the bouquet as if through a shiny, sparkling filter. Flipo simplified the chypre and leather notes, resulting in a clearer, leaner accord. Finally, she added patchouli - one of the most complex and multi-faceted ingredients in the perfumer's palette and also one of the most impressive.
